Book Buddy Project

Books for kids!  Book Buddy is a collaboration between Faith Presbyterian Church, Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church (“SHPC”), and Presbyterian Children’s Home and Services (“PCHAS”) to provide new books for kids. The event takes place on Sunday, September 17, immediately after services.  Funded by a Better Together Grant awarded by Mission Presbytery, books have been selected and purchased by the Book Buddy book committee. Because we are “better together”, a catered luncheon has been planned to foster relationships and connection.

The event will allow members of Faith Pres, to join with members of the SHPC and PCHAS for food, fellowship, and book selection for individual kids. You will be provided with a bookmark that has a name, age, gender, and a special interest of a recipient. Once provided with that information, you will then choose three books to for that child to receive. There will also be an opportunity to write a note on a postcard to include in the package of books.

COME JOIN in the food and fellowship as we gather with each other and provide books for the kids in the care of PCHAS in Temple, Austin, and San Antonio. Please register using the link provided on or before September 10 to be included in the head count for the catered lunch. Note the location of SHPC is in SW Austin, on William Cannon at McCarty Ln. The event begins at 11:45 AM and is expected to be a 2-hour event. If possible please wear your Faith nametag.  The Book Buddy committee is looking forward to seeing you there!
